Established Baton Rouge Law Firm

Distinguished history in Baton Rouge legal community

McCollister, McCleary & Fazio APLC had three founding partners, who set the tone of excellence, integrity and personal service that has marked the firm from its inception through the present:

  • Rolfe H. McCollister, Sr. (1924 - 2006)
  • M. Aubrey McCleary (1936 - 2006)
  • Sidney Fazio (1935 - 1995)

Rolfe H. McCollister, Sr. had an impressive military career. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Silver Star and two Bronze Stars for his courageous service as an infantry officer in the Korean War. While serving in Korea, Rolfe ran for and was elected as state representative for Louisiana in January 1952. His legal career began with graduation from LSU Law School in December 1954.  He practiced law in Baton Rouge for 45 years.  In 1955, Rolfe started a law practice with Judge Lenton Sartain under the name of Sartain & McCollister. That firm continues today under the name of McCollister, McCleary & Fazio APLC.   Rolfe also founded Printing Inc., the North Baton Rouge Journal, and with his son, Rolfe Jr., the Baton Rouge Business Report. Throughout his noteworthy legal career he continued to be active in politics and participated in many community projects, including the Christian Embassy in Washington, D.C., which he co-founded; Pro Athletes Outreach, where he served on the board; the Chapel on the Campus, where he was an elder; and the1970 Billy Graham Crusade in Baton Rouge, for which he served as chairman.

M. Aubrey McCleary attended Louisiana State University (LSU) and LSU Law School, graduating first in his class in 1961. He practiced law in Baton Rouge for 45 years, the majority of that time specializing in real estate. He was a respected real estate attorney who closed thousands of loans during his career. Over the years he worked with many developers, builders and contractors in Louisiana and was very active with the Builders Association. Aubrey was a member of Baton Rouge Independent Title Attorneys (BRITA). His peers at BRITA honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Aubrey embodied the highest standards of character and integrity throughout his professional and personal life.

Sidney D. Fazio attended LSU and LSU Law School, graduating first in his class in 1960. While in law school he was a member of the Order of the Coif and was editor-in-chief of the Louisiana Law Review.  He practiced commercial real estate law for many years. Sidney also served as general counsel for both the Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association and the Louisiana Home Builders Association. In 1987 Sidney Fazio was inducted into the LSU Law Center Alumni Hall of Fame.
